Domestic Christmas travel destination, a place with a good atmosphere
Christmas is just around the corner! Seoul and its surrounding areas are full of Christmas atmosphere. As a couple who is serious about Christmas, now is the perfect time to go somewhere with a nice atmosphere. I'm planning to go on a hot tour of domestic Christmas destinations, whether in Seoul or nearby areas. It doesn't matter if there are a lot of people or it's hectic. Christmas is just one day in the year.
Let me summarize the BEST 4 Christmas trips I took with Momo and where to go.
01. Simmons Terrace / Icheon
Simmons Terrace is a popular Christmas destination near Seoul. It is a complex cultural space operated by Simmons that provides unwavering comfort. There are many things to see and do inside, including a store where you can buy Simmons products, a cafe, and a photo zone. In particular, it is a popular place because of its emotional and exotic interior. However, at Christmas time, the lawn is more popular than the inside of the building. A colorful tree unfolds.
In advance, I searched a lot for ways to take the perfect shot from the tree at Simmons Terrace. The most recommended strategy is to attack the deadline. It's so crowded with people that it's difficult to take our own photos. Instead, it is said that there are not many people around closing time, and because it is dark, the tree shines brightly. Since we were definitely the last ones to go, we took pictures leisurely and intimately, almost as if we were the owners.
02. Yeonyang Garden / Yeoju
Yeonyang Garden is a unique domestic Christmas destination where the atmosphere changes every Christmas time of the year. I saw it on Instagram and begged Momo to go all the way from Seoul to Yeoju. Actually, when I first saw the exterior, I was a little worried because it felt a bit like a country village hall, but my worries were immediately blown away because it was filled with a Christmas feeling right from the entrance. Once we enter the cafe, a dazzling photo zone immediately welcomes us.
While Momo was ordering, I was preparing and posing for various things in the photo zone. Wouldn't Santa's village, a bit like a fairy tale, actually look like this? It was decorated so well that it made me think. Other than the Christmas concept, the interior had a slightly retro feel. The sofa was comfy and the drinks were delicious, so I took all the pictures and got to Yeoju so I had a good rest. When I got home, I saw that there were over 400 photos taken here.
03. Time Villas / Uiwang
Since opening, Time Villas Lotte Premium Outlet Uiwang, where Momo and I often go shopping, also has a large tree for Christmas this year. As I remember, last year the tree was inside, but this year it was outside in the plaza. It felt like the scale had gotten bigger. If you stand just a little bit apart, the photos don't overlap and you can get a beautiful tree shot of your life.
In the past, when taking pictures of a tree, the standard method was to take pictures so that the entire body and the entire tree were visible, but this year, everyone zoomed in and took pictures so that the entire tree was not visible in the frame. Hmm then how do you know where this tree is? I thought so, but I guess that’s not important these days. The photo is definitely pretty... but when you look at this photo later, it's there! I don't know if I can do it.
04. Sea front terrace / Yeongjongdo
In fact, the most memorable domestic Christmas destination this year is the sea front terrace on Yeongjong Island. It is a famous place because the ornaments hanging on the large tree in the photo zone change into various fruits every time. I've been there both when it was strawberry and when it was tangerine, and I was curious how it would have changed at Christmas. I was worried that it might be a bit cold because the cafe is in front of the sea, but I was persuaded by Momo's words that physical exhaustion is only temporary and photography is a lifetime, so I visited.
The day I visited was a cold, windy day, and people were lining up to take pictures at the photo zone. As expected... I stood in line trembling and shaking, thinking that these people were sincere in their photos. There were various decorations such as baskets, Santa capes, and Rudolph headbands to make the photos look good, so I took pictures while looking Christmassy. It was so cold that my teeth chattered, but looking at the photos taken inside the warm interior made the effort worthwhile. Challenge again next year?!
So far, 2023 ver. We have summarized the BEST 4 domestic Christmas travel destinations. Perhaps because of the very cold weather, I remember the terrace in front of the sea the most. Momo says she most remembers Yeonyang Garden, which had a twisted interior design. I feel like I picked a mulberry for Christmas this year. Where are you going next year?
